PART I. GENERAL

1.1 Scope Specify to meet project requirements

1. Work included:
   1. Hacker Floor Primer
   2. Hacker Floor Underlayments
   3. Hacker TopCoat™ SP (Surface Prep)

1.2 Qualifications

1. Hacker TopCoat™ SP shall be installed by a Licensed Applicator of Hacker Industries, Inc. using approved equipment.
   
   
2. Hacker TopCoat™ SP shall be delivered in original, unopened pail and protected from prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures.
   
   
3. Install as a top coating for Hacker Floor Underlayments.
   
   
4. Before, during and after the installation of Hacker Floor Underlayments and Hacker TopCoat™ SP, building interior shall be continuously ventilated and heated to a minimum of 50°F (10°C).
   
   
5. All materials specified herein shall be approved by Hacker Industries, Inc.

PART II. PRODUCTS

2.1 Materials

1. Hacker TopCoat™ SP supplied by Hacker Industries, Inc., Newport Beach, CA.
   
   
2. Gypsum Concrete: FIRM-FILL Gypsum Concretes or GYP-SPAN Radiant as supplied by Hacker Industries, Inc. Newport Beach, CA
   
   
3. Mix Water: Potable and free from impurities.

PART III. Execution

3.1 Condition of Subfloor

1. The General Contractor is responsible for providing a structurally sound (L/360) subfloor, cleaned, dry, and free of oil, grease and other contaminants.
   
   
2. Before the installation, General Contractor shall inspect and approve the elevations and subfloor
   
   
3. Hacker Floor Underlayment Application

1. Installation: Install Hacker Floor Underlayment adhering to Hacker Industries, Inc.'s Recommended Specifications (See applicable literature for specifications).
   
   
2. Drying: The General Contractor shall provide continuous ventilation and adequate heat to rapidly remove moisture from the area until Hacker Floor Underlayment is completely dry.

3.2 Mixing Instructions for Hacker TopCoat™ SP

1. Mix 1 part Hacker TopCoat™ SP with 6 parts potable water in a clean mixing container.
   
   
2. It is recommended that the Hacker TopCoat™ SP be added into the water.
   
   
3. Stir gently to achieve a homogenous state. To prevent inducement of air and subsequent bubbles, do not over-stir or use a high-speed mixer.

3.3 Hacker TopCoat™ SP Application

1. A. Hacker Floor Underlayment floors shall be clean, dry and free of dust or other contaminants that would effect the bond of Hacker TopCoat™ SP.
   
   
2. Jobsite, Hacker TopCoat™ SP and underlayment must be maintained at minimum 50° F for 48 hours before, during and after job completion. Radiant heat systems should be shut down during application and drying of top coat.
   
   
3. See Quick Reference Data Sheet to install fully diluted Hacker TopCoat™ SP. Do not allow top coat to puddle. Do not overseal Hacker Floor Underlayment! Only one-coat application recommended.
   
   
4. Allow top coat to dry for 1 to 2 hours before installation of floor covering products.

3.4 Limitations as an underlayment top coat:

1. Hacker TopCoat™ SP is not a wearable surface.
   
   
2. Recommendations of the floor covering and floor-covering adhesive manufacturers supercede these instructions.

3.5 Preparation for Installation of Floor Coverings

1. Floor Covering Procedures: Please see Hacker Industries, Inc.'s "Guidelines for Installing Finished Floor Coverings". The guideline is not a warranty and shall be used as a guideline only. Also reference ASTM F2419-05.
